The project

ATRESBIO is a project led by CTA with the aim of promoting value chains to obtain bioproducts derived from biomass from olive groves, horticulture and algae in Andalusia.

ATRESBIO analyses Andalusian capacities in research and in 10 key innovation services, with the aim of identifying areas for improvement. Furthermore, the project will draw up a road map for the deployment of the bioeconomy in Andalusia and a medium-term technological surveillance system.

In this way, ATRESBIO aims to maximise the competitiveness and sustainability of the Andalusian industrial fabric in the area of the bioeconomy, facilitating economic growth and the generation of jobs associated with sectors with high added value for the region.

At ATRESBIO, Andalusian research capabilities and provision of the following 10 advanced innovation services are under analysis:

These studies inform companies regarding the technical feasibility and possibilities of turning their innovative technology into economically viable products. The results of these studies allow companies to determine the next steps of their innovation and their business development strategy.

The data generated can be used to carry out techno-economic assessments and Life Cycle Analysis (LCA), to identify strategic partners in the industry or to attract and convince potential investors.
